Global Warehouse Management for Modern Warehouse Logistics

From grown structures to a scalable warehouse platform.

Starting situation

With increasing internationalization and a growing number of warehouse locations, the demands on logistics and goods flow processes also increased. Different systems, individual processes, and numerous interfaces complicated operational business and led to high complexity in everyday life.

The goal was to create a unified foundation for modern warehouse logistics: with standardized processes, better transparency, and a platform that can be rolled out worldwide.

Unifying grown system landscapes

Different warehousing and logistics systems had to be merged into a common structure.

Design efficient global rollouts

Introducing a solution that can be rolled out quickly and in parallel worldwide.

Creating scalability for future growth

The platform had to be flexibly expandable to accommodate further locations and requirements.

Solution

  • Introduction of a standardized Warehouse Management System with SAP EWM
  • Development of a global template for international rollouts
  • Harmonization and optimization of existing warehouse processes
  • Integration of retail, transport, and material flow systems
  • Implementation of Agile Project and Rollout Processes
  • Support for Test Management, Quality Assurance, and Operations Preparation

What our expert says

Steffen Tauber
Head of Research

„Testing a parallel SAP EWM for multiple locations and countries sounds routine – but it isn't. Each warehouse has its own logic: different processes, different upstream and downstream systems, outdated documentation. Despite a fixed timeline, we successfully brought all locations to the finish line – because we know how to structure complexity without offloading it onto the customer.“
