Digital driver's license processes for modern administration together with Komm.ONE

From complex processes to an intuitive, seamless user experience.

Starting situation

In cooperation with Komm.ONE, a digital solution for modern driver's license administration was developed as part of the Municipal Master's program for driver's licenses. The goal was to process various applications more efficiently, intuitively, and seamlessly.

Complex processes and information needed to be processed end-to-end, and existing administrative procedures digitally supported. At the same time, the solution had to consider different user groups—from case workers to citizens—and be seamlessly integrated into existing specialized procedures.

The digitalization of processes created a modern platform that reduces administrative effort, shortens processing times, and significantly improves user-friendliness.

Challenges

Unify fragmented processes

Different systems and processes had to be integrated into a consistent end-to-end processing system.

Map complex technical logic

Specifications such as XFall messages required precise implementation in the application processing.

Ensure user-friendliness

Despite complex requirements, the solution had to be intuitively usable by case workers.

Integration of existing systems

Integration with existing content and document management systems.

Scaling across federal states

The solution should not only work locally but also be deployable in other states.

Solution

  • Development of an application for end-to-end processing of applications and messages
  • Implementation of a user-friendly interface for case workers
  • Building a Custom Database Structure and Data Models
  • Integration of document workflows and document management systems
  • Implementation using Scrum for flexible and iterative further development
  • Preparation and implementation of scaling to further federal states
